Today I kept my diet 100% dairy free. For breakfast I made juice, lunch was stir fry, midday was more juice, and dinner was baked salmon, mashed potatoes (which I ate sparingly), and a nice big salad. This evening I had some popcorn as a snack while watching Cowboys & Aliens. Pretty good flick, if you ask me. Not the greatest sci-fi ever, but if you can pull off making a movie featuring science fiction and cowboys? That's fantastically impressive. I'd buy it.
Just a quick fyi if you want to do any juicing. I highly recommend getting cherry tomatoes. I don't like tomatoes. In fact the only time I like them, is on pizza, or bruschetta. I made it a habit of trying one plain once a year to see if I like them yet but so far it's come up as "blech" on my palette. I was pretty hesitant about popping a few of these in my juice today, but let me tell you, they taste fantastic in a juice! They add another layer of flavor that I find very yummy. Word of advice though, put them in BEFORE you turn your machine on. When I lifted my pusher and dropped them in the first time, there were bits of tomato flying up and out of my machine. Not tons, but enough to go, "EEEEP!!" and frantically try to put the pusher back in place before anymore came out. Sadly mine has a little notch you have to line up for the pusher to go down and by the time I finally got the darn thing in, the tomatoes were already juiced and through the machine. Lesson for next time.
So this morning I did have to flush my sinus'. Something tells me that this might be a regular thing in the mornings until my body gets back on track with all the veggies and fruit. I really HATE doing the sinus flush. At first I always feel like my eyes are going to pop out of their sockets for a moment or two, and then if you go TOO fast it can pop your ears, and my husband claims that it can actually get in your ears too which is extremely unpleasant. Overall I just find it uncomfortable and don't like doing it. However, if it helps, it helps, right?
So this morning I did that and afterwards I was feeling so nasty that I cancelled going to church. My kids all seemed to be sluggish anyway and I had no energy or fight in me to argue with them. I'm contemplating heading to the doctor tomorrow if this sinus thing keeps up. I don't want to because without insurance we're going to have to pay full price for the visit and any possible medicines, but if I do indeed have a sinus infection, the last thing I want is for it to get worse.
And now it's 10:30 and I am so sleepy. I believe I shall now drag my butt to bed and actually get some sleep. Hopefully.
